Benching used to be the most frustrating lift for me, while I'm still not super strong on it, its the lift that gives me the most satisfaction. I've adjusted my grip so my hands come in just inside the groove, much wider than that I find uncomfortable.
That was a good read Matt.
Thanks for the article Matt! I have been on and off doing the "bodybuilding style" but bring it down to the chest and hands shoulder width apart. My back feels more supported when laying down like that though. Is the article saying it isn't good? I think it just confused me when it mentioned that.
Bar position on chest requires jpegs for conformation
How about vids?

Yay or nay?
That looked alright from that angle. You might have had a little elbow/bar-path wonkiness going on with the last two reps but it's hard to see.

Also if you want to do any IPF meets you'll need to keep your feet flat, even if the cheater-feds don't care.

I did, which is why I stopped at 3. After the second rep, I could feel it getting squirrly, when I attempted, and failed to fix it on the 3rd, I cut it short. I was going for 5 reps

I highly doubt I'll ever be comp worthy with the weights I'm pushing. So no worries. Is it something indicative of good v bad form? Or is it just something IPF prefers?
It's an IPF rule that you have to keep your feet flat on the ground during the attempt. If they come up, you'll get dinged for it.

The cheater-feds don't care, so being up on toes is fine.

Bodybuilders bench high on the chest cause they think it works the chest better. In response, I say Blah Blah
I've been working my upper pecs lately, focusing mostly on guillotine presses, Gironda style (feet up on bench, back flat, very wide grip, bar to clavicles) and interestingly enough my regular bench went up by about 5%. This in conjunction with some extra focus on OH presses and lateral raises instead of using the usual bench press.

Just throwing that out there...
nice article ,many women do bench pressing . . . !!!
