fuck if I know, didn't really keep track of that. I've been working with Shelby from Troponin and the Troponin guys just count macros and cardio. They don't count calories. Its a carb cycling diet.

LOL....One of my training partners is working with Shelby....she is getting good results but I don't like that he cuts out dairy and fruit...that does not work for me.

Exactly...I had to message Matt on facebook to tell him..LOL
It's all good now, I fiddled with the settings so Akismet should only work on people with under 5 posts now.

To answer the question, just do what everybody else said. Diet slowly and pay extra attention to pre/post workout nutrition (protein + carbs). You may want to tinker with the volume of your workouts to make sure you aren't pushing yourself too hard. You can gain on a mild deficit, but too much will start to compromise strength.

If you're just dropping a weight class that shouldn't be too difficult.

Assuming you do all three I guess....can get quite expensive which is why I am glad I am only a raw lifter right now...I won't even attempt gear until I reach a certain total and have my form and technique down better. What federation do you lift in Matt?

Sorry, I missed this part before.

Yes gear is expensive, but I've got a lot of mine for free for hookups of spotting/loading and judging meets. I'd rather get gear than cash most of the time.

Yes you can get it altered, but I'm not doing that because I don't plan on being a little guy for long.

I have always lifted in gear, although I have done both single and multiply. My main focus is getting an APF Elite total and then I want to try and get an Elite total as defined by 100% Raw, but it will be lifting probably in the APF and with belt, wrist and knee wraps. I just want to hit the number, don't particularly care if it counts for anything.

Food for thought, my raw lifts never improved as much as they did when I started wearing gear.

I lift in the APF, I was actually going to drive over to Louisiana in April to do an SPF meet but then they posted an APF closer to home.

You do realise that by counting macros, they are counting calories, right? There's no magic.
No, I believe in magic.

Awesome Awesome Awesome
Hello, Donna -
When I was competiting in PL, I went down a class by cleaning up my diet and carb cycled, similar to what you said you would do (more carbs @ workout...)
I kept my cardio the same, went down a class and did better in that class than in the 142 lb class.

Good luck to you!
If you're really looking to lose a few lbs at the end and can't seem to budge, you can do a sodium load and drop 5 lbs easily over a week without affecting performance at all.
