Hi! I just started competing in powerlifting this year and LOVE it...I am hooked...I will track my workouts here...tomorrow is ME bench so stay tuned....

My next meet is february 21st and it will be my first full meet where I do all three lifts..

My progress has been great and my goal for the meet as far as lifts is:
Squat 285
Deadlift 325
Bench 160

Right now my squat and dead are improving greatly but my bench seems to want to stay at 150

So any of you other powerlifters or those in the know(that means you Matt) feel free to comment , give advice, be it negative or positive on my workouts...my focus is just to improve.

My goal for this year is:
Powerlift in states february
Lift in nationals in may
Do for fun (just deadlift) a meet in July for woman only to compete to benefit breast cancer
Maybe do a local figure comp in August just for shits and giggles, just once...heck it is summer I want to see all this pretty muscle I have put on from powerlifting and look good in a two piece and also just see if I can actually do it...

then back to powerlifting............
Dude, do bodybuilding not figure.

Good luck. BTW I think you need to aim higher for the deadlift - at least 335.
Awesome progress you've made so far.

Good luck w/ everything.

I knew you would say that...you steared me right last time with the 315..

I am thinking this for my attempts..what do you think?
1st opener 285
2cnd 315 PR because I hitched last meet (will be easy b/c lifted this last week in the gym)

3rd depending on how lift 2 went go for it somewhere between 325 and 335

Thanks Matt! Now if I can just get my bench to budge...
Those are impressive lifts! Good luck!
So are you lifting raw or cheating? What fed is this in?

raw...I won't use gear until I get strong enough and my form and technique is dialed in ( don't see the necessity for it until you reach a certain strength level) , I also want to get an elite total first which I am hoping for next month as long as my bench complies.....I kind of want to play with a shirt one day.

I am in the SPF.........southern powerlifitng federation
