Thanks for asking.
I just started a thread over at Lyle's site about it.
I took some progress pics this morning and did not even realize how
misaligned my shoulders are.
I have done the workout you gave me but I have to admit I have not been very consistent. In general I do not have as much pain. Not to say I am lazy but I think I would like to work with someone through the rehab. It's been going on so long that i basically get discouraged very easily these days. But then damn it, I want to do what I used to do before.
lazy

I was hoping for some encouragement!

Great!
I guess it was sympathy I was looking for.
When doing reverse pulls, I can do about 6-7 per set. No more.
Overhead squats seem pretty comfortable.
As far as push ups, I can easily do 3 sets of 15-20 at this point.
Definitely feel better after all the stretching.
In doing the rehab you recommended, should I expect to see the shoulder realign with the healthy one over time?
What are the initial changes I can expect as my shoulder feels better?
It might but it'll depend on what's causing it. Are you really focusing on pulling your shoulder blades 'back and down' on all those upper-back exercises? If it's a strength imbalance, that's what you need to be doing.
At this point, after all the time has passed since the initial injury, it seems to me like strength imbalance between right and left shoulders.
I have lost strength from simply not challenging the upper body but it's clear to me the right shoulder has weakened. I do not feel it so much when I do lateral raises but I feel it in everyday activities.
Water yesterday 2 L. Not good at all.
Shoulder in pain today ??? Maybe because I have been spending more time than usual online at bodyrecomp trying to get to the bottom of my shoulder issues.
Turns out that quite a few folks out there are really helpful in helping me figure out what my next step should be.
I have to say that is one things that drags me down....this issue.
I am canceling my shoulder doc appt and looking into an ART specialist- probably a chiro who knows ART. Turns out that Eric Cressey lives in the next state from me- about 3 hrs away. As well as the Palloff. But that would be my last resort.
I have to write up a rehab program for myself based on what Lyle and Vyapada suggested over at BR. Really need to commit because part of the reason i am not healingis my own laziness/ discouragement.
That is really my goal for this year- do the work and heal the shoulder for good. everything else will have to come second.
I know how frustrating it can be to not be able to do something because of an injury. It's like your body is letting you down. I'm sure you'll get through this year.
They pretty much told you what I've already had you doing. The stuff I gave you stretches the pecs and internal rotators, and strengthens the lower traps and serratus.
That's about all that can be done yourself. I agree that getting outside help from an ART guy or equivalent may be the best for you if that's not working.
