6 med figs (~350g)
1 oz blue cheese or goat's cheese
10g walnuts or your nut of choice
1-2 tsp honey
Serves 2.

-Slice a cross in the tops of the figs and squeeze them in the centre so they open.
-Drizzle a little honey in the centre each fig and place in an oven at 180C for about 10 mins until they're warm to touch.
-Take them out of the oven and place a little cheese and walnut in the centre of each fig.
-Place back in the oven until the cheese has melted slightly and the nuts have browned.

This is most often made with some sort of ham like so:

mmmm! I bet that would even be pretty sweet without adding the honey

...and maybe using smoked or honey glazed turkey....
How sweet they are depends on the figs. This lot I used weren't that sweet. Plus a teaspoon of honey amongst 6 fix doesn't do much more than help them caramalize a little.

Turkey would definitely work. You could make it into a salad with some turkey and buffalo mozzarella as well. Smile
Wow, this sounds good! yum!

I know there are two types of figs. I forget but I like one better (sweeter) Do you know which one you used or is better for this? I think the brown ones are the ones I liked, I forget.
For stuffed figs, I would pick any that are a good size and soft to the touch.
Regarding the sweetness, in my experience, both green and black figs are very sweet. It just depends on how ripe the fruit is. For example, we get these tiny little green figs that are sweeter than honey but you wouldn't think it to look at them, while these healthy looking black ones were kinda meh. Best bet is to look at the bottom of the fruit and if it's oozing a little, it's sweet. Smile
Oh I've also heard of people using maple syrup in this recipe. Might be worth trying.
sounds good thanks !!
These looks very delicious! I've never cooked with figs before and I'm a bit intimidated but I will have to try this recipe some time. Thanks for posting it!!Bravo!
ohhh I do something similar, stuff some blue brie into some turkish dates. sooo good!
I just clean and eat.
Figs are delicious, even more so when I don't think about how much they cost.
