I thought this was quite good. I also think that more experienced lifters will get much more out of returning to the basics with this sort of program than a beginner.

That's something I'm seeing as I go through it, yeah. There's not a ton of volume here unless you go through the 5 sets of 10 on the assistance work or something else like that.
Just working up to that One Big Set of the day is fun and good to keep my head in it, but I can see how it wouldn't be so useful for somebody that didn't have at least a few years behind them.

Wendler says that, not so much in the book, but on the Q and A. His recommendation for a high school football player just getting into lifting is not 5/3/1, it's squatting 3x a week.
